To me, this image best speaks what I want to say through documenting old homes. Here you have a young man who's gone to his room to reflect on this thoughts. The man has since moved on, grown old, and abandoned his home. But decades later, a part of soul is still a young boy in that same room, longing to escape bad memories. Or maybe he longs for the security of happy memories.

We think that old abandoned buildings are haunted by spirits trying to scare us out, but it's really these places in which we used to live that haunt us.

I don't know why, but exploring run-down buildings intrigues me. You seem like you've just entered something special that no one knows about.

That is the smallest room I've ever seen. It makes the whole thing a bit more surreal feeling.

It was indeed tiny. I had to set up half of my tripod on an armchair at the foot of the bed. I tried getting a shot of that scene, because it looked equally cool, but setting the camera on the whobbly bed didn't work very well.

But it makes you think...it's beautiful that some people just need somewhere to sleep and that makes it their own, and not decorations and personal sentiments.
